WHY YOU NEED A WELL-DEFINED GOAL
Lessons from the “Day I walked to work.”
Goals are as important as the process by which we
breathe. The number one reason for saying this is because; GOALS gives meaning
to life. Look around you, the people who have accomplished much in life are
those working towards specific goals. No one has ever achieved anything of
substance without a well-defined goal.
In order to live life to the fullest, you must have
something that drives you, something that makes you get to the office before
everybody else. Clearly define your purpose in life through the kind of goals
that you set.
Goals give meaning to life
The true meaning to life is well understood only by those
people who have well-defined goals, they are the people whom I can clearly say
without fear of contradiction, that understand the true meaning of life. The
true meaning of life is found in the kind of goals that we set for ourselves.
Goals give you the zeal and enthusiasm to take your own
life to the next level, whether financially, spiritually, socially, physically,
emotionally, or mentally.
The only way to achieving success is by setting and
working strictly on your goals.
Goals offer an opportunity for improvement
Make a point to constantly explore better ways of doing
things. It doesn’t matter whether things look perfect around you, whether your
life is running smoothly. And even when you are the best in your
field/work/industry, ensure that better alternatives are never disregarded.
With well-defined goals, you can always better what you have marked as your
all-time best results. Maxwell Maltz said it beautifully, " Man is
functionally like a bicycle. Unless he's moving onward and upward towards an
objective - a goal - he's going to falter and fall."
Goals create the excitement necessary for accomplishment.
It takes a specific goal to create the excitement
necessary for great achievements. Big accomplishments in life require that we
develop a great level of excitement. We already know exactly what we desire to
have.
We will always be happy knowing that we are working on
something that has the potential to change our lives and the lives of those
around you.
Goals make you see the bigger picture.
A goal is what makes the difference between the pessimist
and the optimists. Goals transform our minds to only focus on what is possible.
Working with a goal at the back of your mind, and having it on paper is like
working on a finished product or project. It is important to complete it in
your mind before you even start it.
Goals improve our confidence.
“When your confidence goes up, your competence goes up at
the same time. Simply stated, it means that when your image improves, your
performance improves.”
Confidence is what you need for you to reach great
heights. Say yes you can do it, even if you don’t know-how, then find out how
to go about it. We can confidently learn anything and everything that we so
desire if we can see ourselves doing it.
Goals are important.
